Festive fives: alternative Christmas trees

We’ll be heading down to our local Christmas tree farm as usual to get our tree this year. However, I’m considering little trees for the children’s rooms too – so they can display their decorations and I can display mine! If you’re looking for an alternative tree, here are the best I’ve found so far.

1. Pre-lit paper tree

This is my favourite tree in the shops; it’s not pretending to be anything it’s not. And you can’t fault the reviews.

2. Small potted evergreen tree

We need a lot of plants for our garden, so buying two small evergreens for the kids to decorate at Christmas that we can then plant out afterwards feels like we’ll be getting the most out of them!

3. Wall sticker tree

There are quite a few of these available but this simple snowflake one just edges it for me.

4. Sticky note tree

Don’t want to have to use the credit card to buy a wall sticker and then get it out again to help try and peel it from the wall afterwards? Why not get creative with sticky notes or any bits of paper you have to hand?

5. Fallen branch tree

I rescued a fallen branch from the side of the road a couple of weeks ago and can’t wait to pot it and cover it in fairy lights and hanging advent calendars…
